PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM

(Pre-Professional & Professional Dancers 16+)

The Verdon Fosse Legacy® Professional Training Program is an elite invitational six-week summer intensive for professional and pre-professional dancers ages 16 and up in New York City.

This comprehensive, only-of-its-kind immersive program delivers a journey from foundational training through a professional company experience. Your mornings begin with essential grounding in Ballet, Fosse® Jazz, or Jack Cole technique (Jack Cole's blend of modern dance and global vernacular styles profoundly influenced Gwen Verdon's artistic development). Auxiliary Technique classes expand to encompass the vast array of styles and vocabulary that influenced Verdon & Fosse's methodology, including Classical Indian, Afro-Caribbean, Flamenco, Rhythm, Theatre Games, and Mime.

As the program progresses, your schedule mirrors that of a professional company with Company Class, followed by intensive Fosse® Repertoire work sessions studying longer excerpts from the choreographic canon. The multi-focus curriculum develops you as a complete triple-threat performer through small-group vocal sessions, acting exercises, scene work, and singing, while daily rehearsals with Legacy Rehearsal Directors & Reconstructeurs provide extended coaching and direction within a professional rehearsal setting.

The final weeks concentrate on rehearsing both authentic Fosse® Repertoire and new commercial choreography in the style of Fosse®, cultivating the increased confidence and artistry needed to be competitive in today's market. This challenging, in-depth, and constructive learning environment prepares the next generation of Fosse® trained dancers through an intensive, immersive, and inspiring training experience not available anywhere else.

The program culminates with an In-Studio Presentation of your work for peers, family, teachers, and the theatrical community on August 14, 2026.
